Can I get malta extract from a grocery store or a wal-mart or a place like that, and if not is there anything I can substitute for the malt extract? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For beer, you'll need to find a local homebrew store or use mail order. Where do you live?

Now, if you just want to make wine, Walmart has a lot of decent juice options.
