Having been in the Corps for 22+ years, unfortunately the list is long. 2 Marines who's lost really impacted my life:
1stLt Anthony Starner
SSgt Thomas Broomhead (died as a soldier, but will always be a Marine)
Semper Fi and Rest in Peace to all who gave all!

Of the guys I served with, he's the only one I know of that died over there, He had gotten out of the Corps and was over there as a contractor.
Cheers to all of you that put it all on the line everyday

No one close to me has given his/her life for our country. However, both of my older brothers served...the oldest, Wayne, was in the Navy, and the second oldest was a Marine. I honor them, the service they gave, and I honor all those who have served to maintain our freedoms.
Our local daily newspaper published a list of those from our county who died in service, from the Civil War through our current Iraq/Afganistan situation. It was quite a list! Covered 3/4 of a normal newspaper page.
Honor them with me, won't you?

Since I served during peace time, thank goodness, none of my fellow soldiers died in combat. One died in an accident out in the field. He was a new solder, a very young guy who was my friend.

We honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Let's not forget.

Many thanks to all the men and women who are serving, have served, and died for this great country that allows me to sit at home and brew a beer in their honor in peace. This one's for you all. Thank you.
