Default Layne Staley Tribute

Today is the seventh year anniversary of his death. He was one of my all time favorite vocalists.

He was definitely awesome. I sometimes wonder what great artists like him and Kurt Cobain would have done if not for dying. Then I realize that it may not be so bad going out at the top of your game. Better than wasting away and having a career peter out.

I think Layne Staley was one of the best vocalists of all time. No one had a voice like he did. I still listen to AIC all of the time- I don't think it ever gets old.

From Chains

Hey, I ain't never coming
Home
Hey, I'll just wander my own road
Hey, I can't meet you here tomorrow
Say goodbye don't follow
Misery so hollow

Hey you, you're livin'
Life full throttle
Hey you, pass me down that
Bottle, yeah
Hey you, you can't shake
Me round now
I get so lost and don't
Know how
And it hurts to care, I'm
Going down........................

From Mad Season

My pain is self-chosen
At least, so The Prophet says
I could either burn
Or cut off my pride and buy some time
A head full of lies is the weight, tied to my waist

The River of Deceit pulls down, oh oh
The only direction we flow is down
Down, oh down
Down, oh down
Down, oh down
Down, oh down

My pain is self-chosen
At least I believe it to be
I could either drown
Or pull off my skin and swim to shore
Now I can grow a beautiful shell for all to see...............................

RIP brother!
