Default Hip hop and such

Seeing as the punk and metal threads have lived on for quite some time I'll give this a shot.

I recently came across a thread on reddit about rappers that people thought were "wack" but then came to like, Danny Brown was the top reply so I checked it out.
And it was good.
So I'll start off with that.

Also, whether you like his music or not, check out his back and forths with
and
.

Edit: Gonna go see Killer Mike in a couple of hours.

I'm a dorky white grandma, but I'm pretty sure my favorite hip hop stuff is NWS.
Gangstas and Strippers, U and Dat, etc.

To be honest, after my first contact with macklemore I disregarded it as pretentious hipster shiet, but after hearing thrift shop on the radio a couple of times I'm willing to revise my opinion.

The End was the first song of his I stumbled upon (somehow I got to it through a YouTube recommendation) and I enjoyed it. It took me a while to warm up to the rest of his stuff though.

Perhaps she means NWA?

I'm becoming more and more a fan of George Watsky every moment.

OAK right now kind of fits the way life has been been going the past two years, and I get some comfort out of it.

That Thrift Store song is really getting overdone now. Man, first time I heard it I thought it was golden but it is starting to grade on my nerves every time I hear that funky beat start on the radio. Ah wait, who am I kidding, I still love it. Especially the part about R Kelly piss sheets. But it is going to get to be one of those songs I'm never going to want to hear again in the not to distant future I'm sure.

Danny brown and A$AP back and forth quote of the day: "it's fun, but it ain't cool to wake up in the puddle."

Classic.

Also, Thift Store is novelty rap. I hate myself for not turning it every time it comes on (like every 10 minutes).
