I had missed that.

It looks like indeed he did meet his demise, and not from a free climb but from a type of bungee jumping but with climbing ropes!

I'm pretty sure I couldn't go up 400' of steps in 4'30"! Not at that rate of speed anyways.

Didn't he die several years ago? I vaguely recall hearing something about it obliquely through the kayaking community. Seems like it set off a huge controversy in the free-climbing world about safety.
