haha, that thread has turned into quite the monster over the last month or so. I still read it and occasionally write a long rant only to delete it before I post but as heated as it was for a while, I'm actually surprised Pappers didn't lock the door on it a couple weeks ago.

Its actually REMARKABLY civil for the most part. I have a rather unpopular viewpoint (for HBT), but I have found that most there take the time to actually listen to what I am saying.
All it takes are one or two, however, to make things start to degenerate.

I've heard rumors they flash freeze them so beetles are not a concern. That said I don't believe them. I freeze all of my cigars I have over 500 sticks and 1 infected stick will ruin them all. No one has ever told me they taste a difference.

You keep all 500 in the same container? That seems risky to me...

Noooo I have a 8 humidors.... The one ruins then all is more of a point I was making. My family is in the cigar distribution business so I have seen what beetles do first hand and how cross contamination can occur between humidors.

I've never heard of that before, maybe I'll try it next time I order. Does it do anything to the flavor though? I know freezing changes the cell structure of fruits and vegetables.

Purists will not freeze cigars as they say it effects flavor most will also tell stories of lost humidors and having to "sanitize" the humidor itself to prevent further outbreaks from I hatched eggs. I freeze a bit differently upon a shipment coming in I go 24 hours in the regular refrigerator to bring the temp gradually followed by 72 hours in the freezer than 48 back in the fridge. I also wrap the cigars in paper towels and double bag in freezer bags. This is to prevent humidity loss and to gradually bring temps down than back up so you don't get split wrappers from fast freeze swelling. I personally taste no differnce not does anyone in my Herf group. The one caviat to this is I won't freeze cigars from a certain area ill let you figure that one out.
