We just had this discussion at work. My friend had what I feel was the best solution: cut the extra flap off so the end is exposed, but leave the wrapper on.

I wasn't thinking when I seasoned the humidor. dampened the edges of the box and they swelled a bit and now it's hard to get it open!

I was reading up on humi seasoning recently and people seem to be split on the method. I've seen people recommend wiping the wood down with distilled water, while others condemn the practice because it has the potential to warp the wood... |

I would definitely think twice about doing it to a nice humidor. In this case I actually benefited from it since it now seals perfectly. I need to install a handle of some sort on the lid so I can open it easier, no biggie...

A win for you! I do remember watching one video where the guy recommended wetting the lip if the humi wasn't sealing completely. |

I'm pretty sure they were in the list I posted for you a while back, if not, they should be as they are solid. If you want to try singles of RP before buying a 5'er or box you might try Miami Humidor as they have singles for a good price. I would avoid Thompson as everyone I have ever heard from has regretted ordering from them...apparently they don't leave you alone once you order. I highly recommend the RP Vintage 1990 and 1992. |

For an inexpensive cigar that is easy going the 5 Vegas Gold has a good reputation.
Fixing your humi...well, I'm no expert and have never needed to do this so take it for what it is worth. But, I would try applying very thin layer of food grade silicone and then very slowly build it up with multiple layers if need be.
