I do have a digital hygrometer, not sure how to re-calibrate it...and season the humidor? Is that just wiping it down with water?

I mentioned the tupperdor cause it sounds like your humidor might not have a good seal. If you do a YouTube search for seasoning a humidor you'll see a bunch of videos that show how to do it. To calibrate your hygrometer you should have a button on it that resets it. You'd put a water bottle cap full of salt with a little water(you don't want any water sitting on top of the salt, it should be like a paste) in a bag or tupperware with your hygrometer and let it sit for around 8 hours. The RH should be 75. If it says 75 after the 8hrs its fine, but if it doesn't you hit the calibrate button and its recalibrated. You can also reset the hygrometer by taking out the battery and putting it back in.

For everyday, cheap smokes, I like J&R knockoffs. They have all sorts of wrapper and filler combinations to fit your tastes. I get them from the store by my in-laws, but they can be ordered online also.

Nice. Upon further review I see that one of the hinge attachments is bent not allowing the top to shut all the way. The binge is also missing its rod. Also, I didn't season outright years ago when I got it. I only coated it once with distiller water when I should have have done it three to five times.

My local liquor store has a nice selection. I went with a C&C LRMD and a Perdomo Reserve Champaigne Noir

Just put something heavy on top. That's what I do. Mine doesn't seal perfectly either.

Everyone's different. Some leave it on, I personally take them off. If you go to season the humidor just rinse out a new sponge really well. Wipe the humidor down lightly. Then leave the sponge on top of a ziplock in the humidor overnight. Take it out and put your gel humidifier in there and wait a few days to let it settle the humidity back down.

I leave the wrapper on. They seem to come apart if you remove it. The band on the other hand...
