Default Going to D.C., Any good brewpubs I should go to?

Hey All,

I'm headed off to Washington D.C. tomorrow, had an abstract accepted at the Experimental Biology Conference, and I was just wondering if there are any "omg you have to go there" brewpubs. I'll be there for about 6 days and should have a good amount of free time. Thanks.

Metro out to the West Falls Church station (actually in Virginia) and hit Mad Fox Brewing. Great beers and really excellent food as well. Run by Bill Madden from Capitol City Brewing (also in DC). This place just opened last July and has quickly become my favorite spot in the area not only for the great beers but they also have a pretty wide ranging menu from sandwiches/burgers to gourmet style pizzas, to fancier entrees.

Mad Fox is not bad, but if you don't have a car and are staying in DC, will be a PITA to get to.

Go to Churchkey in DC. AMAZING place. 55 beers on tap with like 500+ bottles. And its in DC close to the metro

Awesome, I'll definitely go to Churchkey and If I have some transportation down there I'll try to hit up Mad Fox.

If you're trying to go to Churchkey on the weekend, better get there real early. It gets packed. On a weeknight, or early on a weekend you'll be fine

yes churchkey churchKEY CHURCHKEY! hope you enjoy it. and yeah, it might be crowded with furloughed gov't workers, who have little better to do than drink their worries away.

also, a bunch of area pubs/bars are running shutdown specials: http://www.rollcall.com/news/shutdow...-204749-1.html

Just got back from my trip and had a chance to go to Churchkey and I was blown away. The beer selection is amazing!! Thanks everyone for suggesting it, I took my boss there and she was very impressed too.
