Yeah, I just heard about this show and it's already in my Netflix Queue right after the last season of the Sopranos which I still haven't watched. It looks very interesting, in a sick kind of way... which happens to be my favorite kind of way.

Dexters first season is one of the single greatest seasons of TV I have ever seen. Season two also kicks major a$$ but last half of season one had me on the edge of my seat, then after the finale I was slapping my forehead going OMFG!!!
I will say it is my all time favorite show.

Both Season 1 and Season 2 are awesome! I saw them on The Movie Network, I understand they're starting to show on regular TV, not sure how much good stuff could be left though. I especially think Doakes wouldn't be very entertaining on regular TV.

I havent caught the episodes on normal tv so Im not sure how bad they butchered the show, but I followed both seasons religiously on Showtime. Excellent show, great actors.
To the readers out there, I suggest reading the novels that the show is based on. "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" and "Dearly Devoted Dexter" By Jeff Lindsay. They are a good read, a little bit different than the show but the central ideas are there.

I think I've watched one on broadcast, and I think they cut Doakes and Deborah quite a bit.
The books are a decent read. The first season of the Showtime series follows the first book somewhat faithfully until the end. The second season of the TV show departed from the written series entirely, though.

FYI, season 1 at least is free to watch on Netflix "Instant Watching" tab.
We've been watching it too. I can't imagine how the show is now that its moved to network television (isn't CBS or someone carrying it now instead of Showtime??)
So far me and SWMBO are digging it.

I'm pretty sure they are just showing reruns. I don't see Showtime letting anybody have it for anything other then reruns.
And I agree with all the comments above. The show rocks, can't wait for season 3.

CBS started showing season one to infuse some new blood (pun intended) into their strike depleted lineup.
