i'm waiting for my little brother to get bored with it. then i'll just borrow his cd's.

i'm looking at team fortress 2, looks like a fun online fps, and a few of my old gaming buddies from the total war series are playing this.

Maybe I'm a moron, (certainly a factor, I work for the government), but how do you connect to an IP in COD4?

Hit the tilde key ( ~ ) to drop the console. Type:

/connect

followed by the IP address in question. for example:

/connect 69.12.96.135

will connect you to the DGA server.

It's not intuitive to be sure. In fact, as far as i am concerned Infinity Ward did a ****ty job of creating the server browser, filters and connection system.

It is amazing. I finished the game in like a day and a half. The AC-130 mission is the cat's ass. I liked the sniper mission too. Wish you had more opportunities with the long distance sniper rifle though.

The attention to detail is just astounding. You stand behind a tank, you can see the exhaust fumes. You can see soda bottles rolling around in the street. The enemy AI is pretty tough. The battles can pretty damn hectic. I die A LOT.
