Apparently, it's a big contraband down in the Sudan. According to the article, it's actually good enough it would still sell if alcohol were legal. Would it be about the same to make as raisin wine, perhaps?

It says the gin is a distilled beverage, so of course we can't make it.

I have a gallon of date wine going now, it's been I believe 6 or 8 weeks so far. It's in secondary.

I tasted it when I racked it off the lees, it's like rocket fuel but will be nice when it mellows.
