More than 100 San Francisco breweries are taking part in "SF Beer Week," a 10-day celebration of the Bay Area's brewing heritage that starts today.
More than 150 events are scheduled to take place between today and Feb. 15, including three festivals, beer dinners, other gourmet food events, home-brewing demonstrations, and a museum exhibition about the history of Bay Area brewing.
The Bistro Double IPA Festival is the first of the three festivals, and will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Bistro at 1001 B St. in Hayward.
A second festival, the Toronado Barleywine Festival, will take place at the Toronado Pub at 547 Haight St. in San Francisco.
The celebration will end on Feb. 15 with the Celebrator Best of the West Beerfest at the Oakland Convention Center, 1000 Broadway in Oakland.
