Default Need beer destinations in LA

Hi. John and I (with the munchkin and boy) are headed to LA January 17-21. We are in need of suggestions for places to get great beer and food. I'll be working like a slave for most of the week but i know John is going to be up for some beer.

Anyone have suggestions?

You may want to check out beerfly on beer advocates website. It can help you find good places to wet your whistle in different towns.

If you are going to LA and looking for good beer you may want to travel a little south down to San Diego. Stone, Ballast Point, Lost Abbey, Port, Alpine, Green Flash, Karl Strauss, S.D. Brewing Company, ect...

It is only a little under a 2 hour drive and it is on one highway. Also a great way to see the coast.
