The closest shops to you are..."American Home Brew Supply", and "Home brew Mart". Further places from you "best damn home brew shop" and then "All About Brewing" in El cajon, Ca. That should help.

Up north a ways is Hydrobrew in Oceanside, and Mother Earth in Vista. Not too close to Mira Mesa... otherwise, Home Brew Mart and AHBS.

My resources are Home Brew Mart in LInda Vista, The Home Brewer on El Cajon Blvd, and Best Damn Home Brew in Downtown. I play around with them depending on what I need. Home Brew Mart is closer to me so I go there first place, they give you 10% off if you're a AHA member. The Home Brewer has probably the lowest prices on grains. Best Damn Home Brew Shop has a great selection of hops, but a bit high priced... They also have probably the best selection of beers in town.

In case you are still monitoring the thread, I carry around a list of San Diego(ish) area homebrew shops in Evernote. Here is the list of shops from San Diego, north to Oceanside/Vista. I am closer to San Diego than Mira Mesa, so I usually go to All About Brewing and Ballast Point, but I have checked out most all of them. I haven't purchased from them, but Mother Earth and The Homebrewer seem like good shops as well. The bonus at Ballast Point and Mother Earth is you can grab a good beer while you are there.

I used to go almost exclusively to home brew mart, but lately I've been going to the Homebrewer on El Cajon blvd, I think they have an exceptionally good selection of grains, lots of harder to find English malts, as well they have multiple scales and a nice motorized mill. Big plus too it is close to Tornado and tiger tiger, good excuse to stop in and get a beer after getting your grains. and its right off 805.

Just so you know, there are those of us that drive 90 minutes each way to a homebrew store. The fact that some of you can drive to 5 or 6 different stores within that radius make me dislike you greatly
