The WA Mead and Cider cup is going to be a fantastic competition. It recognizes the growth in home made mead and cider making in recent years and gives a place to compete these beverages clear of the distraction of other beverages. We also hope to highlight the fact that WA State is known for the production of apples. Being known for our apples, it should naturally reason that we become known for our ciders. We are hoping to build up the interest and competition level in meads and ciders to a level where the Northwest becomes a recognized source of knowledge and excellence.
BrewChops is working hard to get good sponsorship and some great prizes for this event. There should be some really nice custom made prizes. We really encourage all mead and cider makers to put your best product forward and help make this competition a success. Help put WA mead and cider on the radar. There is still time to put a good cider together for this year.
Hope to see you there.
