Looking at my brew notes, I realize it should be .5# carapils (not 1#) for a 5 gallon batch. Also, I didn't do a Saccharification Rest or Mash out as I do a batch sparge. (I do use Irish Moss and do a cold crash (in keg) for most of my batches, including this one.) Here's a half-assed picture of it. (Edit: Although the picture is somewhat dark, I think you can see that the beer cleared quite nicely.)

I did a side-by-side of it with the real thing, and the color and head retention were spot on. The carbonation was slightly different, but the taste was very very close.

I bought this a couple weeks ago. I'll bring an extra container to the pickup location to weight the grain in. It's accurate within .5 oz

So I got my homemade mill today to find out that the gap I told them to make it at is turning my grain to flour. I'm gonna have to have them turn one of the rollers down a little more. Real bummed.

Didn't get to crush any grain to show you tonight. I was to busy wiring up my temp controller. Here it is until I get a project box from radio shack

I'm not convinced that what I have is crystal anything. It is pretty dark and it smells like pale chocolate. When I got there the sack of C60 was already opened and it was clearly marked correctly. This grain I have was a new sack that Dylan brought in while I was there. After the PBW assault on my sinuses and senses it didn't really dawn on me that this grain can't possibly be right.

If that bag of Thomas Fawcett malt is still there see what kind of malt it says it is because TF doesn't even have a C15.

I did use a Whirlflock tab.

My recipe was based off of the Pottsville common (yuengling clone) but with my own twist

5lb 2row
2lb corn
1lb Vienna
1lb MO
.5 carapils

.5 cluster for 60
.5 cascade for 30

151 for 60

170 sparge

Saflager S-23

I'm glad that that was normal with the cold break but I seem to have an unbelievable amount of trub in the fermenter. I probably only ended up with 4.5 gallons of wort/beer.
