I'll interested as well. Did you find a good solution or are you still looking? I'm thinking of starting all grain and I'm curious what the best way to save on grains is.

I didn't do a group buy.. but brewmeister in roseville sells bags at a very reasonable price. About 20$ cheaper than anywhere else I looked

Thanks for the tip. I'll give them a call for the price. It's a little out of my way to save 20 bucks. At more beer I can get a sack delivered for 45-55 bucks. If it's 20 bucks cheaper than that I'll be picking up a variety this weekend. :-) thanks for the tip.

I need to remember to proof read on my phone... To = tip. Art = at.

Ohh.... Learned how to edit messages. Ignore this. :-)

if they deliver for 45 then that's a good deal... but I thought that's just for the grain not delivery..

It's 11 for shipping per bag. I think the standard pale 2 row was 35 + shopping. If you're in the area they have will call. I'm going to try to get my brother to grab me a sack. It's my first all grain so I'm excited.

That's a good deal.. its 43 in roseville:. Goodluck!! Once u go all grain you will never go back!! Since your buying grains in bulk u gotta get a lb or 2 of hops, then your rolling. That's what I did and my batches are getting very cheap ecpecially since I'm reusing my yeast.

I would also be interested in a group grain buy. There is a new Homebrew club
http://placerbrewers.org/ they may also be interested in a brewmeister group grain buy

One other suggestion... There is a place called Certified Foods in Woodville, not too far from Sacramento, that sells malt by the sack. I have bought from them before, but it's a bit of a hike from the south bay.
