Thanks for the responses from everyone. My take from this is that it is possible to run a 40a SSR in the small Auber box, though it is not an ideal situation. The biggest cons that I see were explained by Kal -- dust and the risks associated with the box not being waterproof.

If you are using the auberins box w/ vents on the back then you have already compromised on water proof/resistant.
