Did you go straight to brewing without doing a wet test run?

I did a wet test and knew the element had a slow drip but didn't find the ball valve problem until the brew session. I pulled the handle off and snugged the stem nut nut a bit and it stopped leaking once I started boiling... I can't make. Excuses for anything else though.... The pid setting that recognizes seperate inputs for the same output during diff ant states will help hit temps correctly next time

First off Congratulations on your first brew on your new rig.
Once your have that sucker dialed in you'll have plenty of time between task. I have my laptop on my brew stand so I can read while I wait. Everyone has a few issues/wrinkles in the beginning but each thing that goes wrong is another bonus learning experience. LOL
Unless your brewing outdoors, I see an exhaust hood in your future. Brew On Brother

Bonus learning experience ehh....at the time it was a whole lot of cussin. I will definitely be thinking of how to integrate a hood. It had the kitchen pretty humid during the boil
