So, this was my first attempt at homemade kombucha, and I'm afraid I effed it all up.

I know not to use flavored teas, but I accidentally used a flavored green tea (kombucha flavored, ironically enough). I didn't even realize I'd used the wrong one until I went to bottle this batch; I went to grab more tea bags for the next one and realized which box I'd used last time. Here are the ingredients in the tea:

-green tea leaf (duh)
-lemongrass
-spearmint leaf
-kombucha
-natural passion fruit flavor
-and natural plum flavor

Never would have guessed those last two ingredients. ANYWAY, I'm worried I need to toss this batch and just start over. I know flavored teas can cause mold, so I'll include links to pictures of the SCOBY since I have no experience with what it looks like and ya'll can weigh in. It does appear textured, but I compared it to other pictures online with mold and it doesn't really look like those. I really don't want to throw it out, but I guess it would be better than the alternative.

The tea I used:

Thanks for any and all help!!!

Your SCOBY looks fine.
If you're worried about the finished KT, taste it and smell it.
If it looks fine, smells fine, and tastes fine, then it is fine.
If there's anything wrong with it your nose will tell you before it makes it to your mouth.
Really it boils down to what those flavorings are made of.
Take a wiff and a taste, let us know how you feel about it.

I actually had tasted it just a bit before I realized which tea bags I used. Tastes great! I'm so excited for it to get a little carbonation, cause I think I'll like it even better than the commercial stuff.

All that to say… tasted/smelled fine to me. Thanks for weighing in!

Welllll that's the other thing. I had already steeped two more quarts with the flavored green tea before I REALLY started worrying about it and posted on here. I just went out and picked up regular organic green tea bags, so do you think I could pull the SCOBYs out and put them in a new batch?

You could but they would impart flavorings from that first batch to any subsequent batches. The flavor will fade eventually.
This is why I always recommend to only make plain KT in primary. You could have put REAL passion fruit or plums in secondary!
