Default Defining continuous brew

I feel like "Continuous Brew System" is just a marketing ploy to sell a container with tap, that's it. How do you define continuous brew?

My definition of continuous brew is the ability to ferment multiple batches of kombucha without having to remove the scoby. Whether that's done with a spigot or an auto-siphon, there is no difference.

I define continuous brew as take a little, replace a little.
The spigot does not define a continuous system.
In my system I don't remove the pellicle, and don't use a racking cane or spigot (I do have one on the bottling bucket but not on the fermentor).
People that have a 2gal crock, that bottle half, then pour in a new gallon are doing the same thing as people doing batches. I take 2L and replace 2L. There's no difference in my eyes.

So to me, it's the volume out/in and frequency that defines being "continuous".
