Should I use yeast nutrient to make a starter?
I do. It doesn't take much though. Just a pinch.

You can, but it isn't necessary. If you do still choose to use it though, as stated above, just use a pinch.
I do....I usually use 1/2 tsp for 2L. Is that too much? My yeast seem to love it! I seem to get insanely fast starting fermentations.
