So I just wanted to give a big thank you to all the people that post on here. With everyone's help I was able to harvest yeast and make a subsequent starter, which after 2 hours on the stir plate looks like this:
Holy Krausen batman! What strain is that?
Wyeast kolsch 2565. I couldn't believe it. Everything that I have read told me that there wouldn't be much of a krausen on a stir plate.
Man. And it's only half full. That's a mighty krausen!
G, I hate when this happens.
Add 1-2 drops of fermcap or other antifoam agent if you have one.
My last wlp004 ended in drain since it spoiled, but my foil was ripped out completely.
We are only 10,000 years into beer... there are thousands of years left to go!
