Yea, it is very hard to tell. Look up beer infection and then if it starts to look like something you recognize, then you can worry. I'd just taste it from time to time.

This is a Tripel I brewed back in January, it had been in secondary for about 2.5 months when I took this picture. No idea what caused the top to be black, but it smelled and tasted fine. Could be the same thing going on with your Wee Heavy, in which case I'd say don't worry.
