Using lager yeast butfermenting at room temp?

I have been all grain brewing for over a year now (10gal) and have not yet ventured into to lagers or pilsners. I don't have a cooler to keep them in yet but can I use lager yeast at room temp(65-75F). I know it won't become a lager but will it impart some lager flavors as an ale and will fermentation take longer?

Search for "Steam Beer" or "California Common." That's basically what you are talking about.

"butfermenting", ahh classic. Anyways, I would not do this. Go with a kolsch or Charlie Papazian yeast strains Cry Havoc it is a hybrid and you will get some lager characteristics at that temperature.

I may be wrong, cry havoc will ferment at both ale and lager temps, not sure if it will attribute lager qualities at ale temps, used it once in the past, good yeast strain

Stick it in a tub with water and rotate frozen water bottles.
I did a common @68 deg.Think i may have gotten a lacto infection from the lids i was using, used s-23 yeast. Still bottled it. I tried one early but had an off taste but im shure it wont be the same after a few more weeks.
