Default step up starter

hi i just stepped up my starter on a stir plate but i did not decant any of the wort is this going to be a problem. i made a half liter starter and stepped it up with a half liter. looking for around 400+billion yeast. any info would be great thanks

Yeah, that's big. You might want to step it up again. What size is your flask?

Check yeastcalc.com for step starters. I didn't look but it seems you are only about half way there.

I am working on a step from frozen yeast I started with 1.028 wort. 250ml and did another 250ml. Will decant this to see the yeast layer and the next step will be at least another 500ml. If it looks good I may go to the final amount.

pour some off to another jar with a lid and add more wort to the growler. Keep feeding them.
