Default Starter ?

Ad trouble searching this...

Can I get 2 5gal batches of yeast from 1 packet using a starter? They are avg gravity beers (1.055) & wyeast 1272.

This has probably been discussed before & I thank you for your help & patience.

You can get way more than 2 batches from the one pack. Make a 2 liter starter and split it in half zand step it back up to a 2L starter and pitch that in beer one. After that beer is finished wash the yeast and keep 4 jars of washed yeast. Now step your original split starter up and pitch in your second beer. Wash that yeast and save.
you should easliy be able to get 10 beers out of one packet of yeast.
