Is it a good idea to shake/swirl the fermenter every now and then? I pitched yesterday afternoon, I know more oxygen is a good thing, I'm worried about yeast and sugars settling out. I'm obviously new at this so any advice about fermentation would be helpful.
 
You want a lot of oxygen before fermentation starts. Once it started, oxygen is a bad thing, so no, don't shake it once in a while
