Default removing lid

I have had to take a couple pf peaks to make sure my beer is fermenting (it is) by removing the lid on the bucket. Does that cause any problems?

Most likely not a problem but it is better to leave it closed up and avoid any chance of infection.

...and therein lies the beauty of clear carboys (either glass or plastic) as fermentation vessels. You get to watch the fermentation in all its glory!

As long as you're still in active fermentation it is probably throwing off enough CO2 to keep it safe. But as varmintman said, you're far safer not doing it. Just trust in your yeast - they know what they're doing!
