Important - Yeast Recall - Nottingham Dry
For those that did not catch the thread up under the Yeast and Fermentation Section, Danstar (Lallemand) has issued a recall of the Nottingham Dry Yeast Lot #1081140118V.
There is nothing harmful about the batch, it is exhibiting slow or no fermentation. (I pitched 3 batches with it on Sunday and this morning...still nothing, so I pitched them all with US-05, Then this afternoon I get the notice about the official recall...figures).
Anyway, we have notified all of our customers that got a yeast from this batch and replacements are being sent out.
If you have purchaced any Nottingham yeast in the last few weeks, Check your Package.

Nottingham Yeast recall
Got this from fellow club members here in Canada about Nottinghan yeast.

We have done some internal quality checks that have shown that a higher than
normal percentage of Nottingham yeast in 11 gram sachet packs from batch
#1081140118V (expiration date of Jan. 2011) exhibit slow fermentation
characteristics. While this is not affecting the majority of packages from
this batch, as a safeguard we would like to replace sachets of this batch of
Nottingham with new inventory from a different batch. If you have any
Nottingham yeast with this batch number, please return it by mail to:
Lallemand Inc.

We will replace each sachet sent along with extra sachets to compensate you

Good!! I have stoped using Nottinghan yeast for this reason. My beers that I have made with this yeast have tasted fine but, I didn't care for the slow fermentation start.

Or an example of trying to save their rear. Their rep has been seriously damaged on this site. I know even though I haven't had problems, im afraid of using it anymore.
