Default No precipitation in starter

I have had my starter going for about 24 hours now on the stir plate and I can't observe any precipitation when I stop it for 5 min. This is the first time I use a stir plate. Is this normal?

Edit: saw some clouding when starting it back up.

Let it sit for an hour in the frige to flocculate out. If it's cloudy there is yeast in suspension, which is where it belongs on a stir plate.

it def depends on the yeast strain as well

high floc strains will drop out pretty quickly - some english strains start to chunk up as soon as you turn the stir plate off

i've got a brett b trois starter going now that barely cleared the top couple centimeters after taking it off the plate for 20+ min
