Ah, that makes sense! I have a gas stove, so I put my flask right on the burner and turn it on high. It takes just a minute to bring it to a boil, and then I boil it for a minute or two (watching for boilovers!), and then chill it. It sanitizes the stirbar for the stirplate AND the flask at the same time, so then it's just a matter of putting on the sanitized foil after I pitch the yeast.
