Default My Cream Ale Wort Tastes like poo

Ok, it doesn't taste like poo but it is unusually sweet compared to other wort that I have tasted. I just pulled a sample from the carboy after 1 week to get a gravity reading. I am waiting to take the reading but I think this might be the worst tasting wort/beer I have ever had.

Anyone else had this experience with a cream ale?

Are you extract or grain? If using grain, what temp did you mash at? Also a lot of cream ales use non-fermentable sugars in them, this could be your problem. Or, it's not done fermenting.

My experience with Cream Ale is that this beer needs a long conditioning time in bottles. By "long time" I mean like 3-6 months. In the beginning it always tasted crappy, but after 3-6 months in bottles somehow they became magical in taste. Very similar to Blonde Ales, BTW.

I am too lazy (well, just don't have enough time mostly) to bottle so I am hoping an extended secondary in the carboy with some keg conditioning will make it a good beer this summer

I'm gonna agree with this, I did a cream ale a few months ago and one month in the bottles and I didn't like it at all. It's been close to four months now and I really like it, glad I didn't give it all away like I was planning on doing.
