not sure, but it most likely some sort of ale yeast (unless you have a cider kit or whatever).
The ale yeast would probably work OK. it depends on your recipe.
I would say just stop by your LHBS and pick up a pack of wine yeast for $.99 or whatever. might as well get a few while you are at it
If nothing else, its an excuse to go look at more homebrewing equipment and supplies.
