Default Help

thanks in advance -I know this topic is covered a lot .....my situation is a little different

Friday night I brewed a 15 gallon batch and split the batch 3 ways. As of 12 hours after pitching-2 of the batches were showing signs of fermentation. The yeasts used were WL-southern german lager (this is the dormant one), Wyeast Munich Lager (going strong), Safelager w-34(going strong). As of this morning 36 hours after pitching the WL batch is still dormant. All batches were oxegenized I pitched 4 vials/packages of yeast to each 5 gallons(except safelager). All yeast was less than 2 weeks manufactured.

I have agitated the wort that is not fermenting several times-still nothing

I have a large pack of the safelager dry yeast-should I pitch it into the dormant wort?

thanks

I'd wait. Sometimes it can take up to 72 hours to start, although I would normally expect to see some signs of fermentation within 36 hours. I'd give it another day.

Here's how I fixed it. I had a 2 gallon batch that was going strong. It was the leftovers from this batch. The 16th and 17th gallon. Look at it like a big starter. Will update on how that panned out.
