Default Gusher Bug Question

My pumpkin beer is way over carbonated and continues to get worse so I'm thinking gusher bug. If it is a gusher bug shouldn't the gravity be lower than pre-bottling or would it not be measurable?

Just confirmed my own question. Dropped from 1.015 to 1.005. Time to replace some plastic and be more thorough on cleaning. Thought I was plenty clean though.

It's an odd bug. I had a barley wine that gushered ... after four years in the keg!
