Hick quest guys. I am brewing a holiday stout a recently racked to my secondary on top of apps 1 cup of raisins and about 2 cups of dark chocolate chips. Fermentation started again, as I expected. About how much should I expect this to add to my ABV %? The initial percentage was 6.5%. I don't know if this amount will make that much difference. Any input?

How many gallons? I'll assume five.

That could add up to 2% ABV. Depends of the sugar content of the chocolate, and probably if you chopped the raisins or not. They might have difficulty releasing their (considerable) sugar content otherwise.

I would probably add cocoa to the beer for future batches. The oil in chocolate can kill your head retention.

Yup. Or cacao nibs soaked in unflavored vodka for a couple of days...

Cheers!
