I'd hate to start a new thread on a relevant topic so I will post in this one and hope that my question gets answered.
So like the pictures above of my lid leak, it go a lot heavier, and more leaked out. Everything seems fine, and it was just the yeast doing its thing. But I was curious, when I open my fermenter to check my gravity and dry hop, should I sanitize the lid and the rim of the bucket just so that stuff that leaked out doesn't some how manage to crust off and get into my beer? If I should, how should I do it? Soak a paper towel with starsan? Just spray starsan? Some input would be great!
