Why is it pushing it? I PRIMARY it all the time.....2.5 gallons is perfect for a 3 gallon better bottle.Is this speculation or experience?
Every batch I've EVER fermented in my 3 gallon BB has been 2.5 gallons, and I've never had a problem.
Please not in this picture where the 2.5 gallon mark is...and how much room there is above it.
And I've never need fermcap in it either.
I think I've even squeezed a 2.75 gallon in there....you see where the graduations are...
