This is what I love about HBT. I started this thread simply to vent, and then learn a great process I hadn't even thought of. Definitely going to start canning starter wort!

I rest a wooden spoon, handle side down, into the neck of the flask, that helps deter boil overs.

I also use a spray bottle filled with water, which is far and away the best boil over tool at your disposal.

Here is the very same wort canning process I use. It's very simple and easy yet still works very well.
