I was fermenting in a fridge to keep the temp between 60-70 but I had it set wrong and it got down to 45. It was only @ 45 for about an hour but since then I haven't seen anything coming out of the air lock. Is it possible that I killed the yeast?
Warm em up to 70-72 and give the fermenter a swirl and they will probably get going.
Yeh, thier not dead, just sleeping..
High temps well above 100F, and freezing yeast will kill it. Anywhere in between you are OK. They may go dormant, but are still alive.
They warmed up and are back to normal. Thanks for putting my mind at ease
