Default De Koninck Yeast from bottle?

I believe De Koninck is filtered, pasturized, & bottle conditioned, is this correct? (that's what it says at ratebeer) If so the bottle conditioning yeast is probably a different strain from the brew yeast, does anyone have any information. I just emptied my first bottle of De Koninck and thought I'd propagate the yeast.

Did a search but didn't run across anything, may have missed it.

Thanks & Schlante,
Phillip

nothing... no one?

I went ahead with a simple low gravity starter, if I need to pour it out, so be it.

It's probably not the primary strain, but that doesn't mean it's a bad strain. Give it a try, you never know. Just don't rely on the taste of your starter, rather try it on a small batch.

All the De Koninks I've had before have not been bottle conditioned. What De Koninck are you drinking that has yeast sediment in the bottle?

WLP515 Antwerp Ale is the De Koninck strain and should be coming out soon if the starter fails to take off.
Here's a site with some info on beers with culturable yeast
