Default bubbles don't need to be present for fermentation? you're full of it!

...or so I thought. I have this character flaw of not believing what other people say after I've already formed my own opinion or thought on a topic.

And here on HBT, a lot of times people tell newbie brewers not to believe their airlock. What a load, I thought. If you have fermentation, you'll get at least some bubbles. Anyone who says they had a full fermentation without airlock activity clearly had a poorly sealed bucket or poorly sealed airlock or something.

I just had my steam beer cruise from 1.045 down to 1.010 over the course of about 6 days with no...or very very few bubbles. My s-type airlock was slightly out of balance for about 5 days but that was it. And now I have beer.

Anyhow, turns out HBT was right and I was wrong.

You're wrong. You clearly had a poorly sealed bucket or airlock.

I was only wrong once.....

That's when I thought I was wrong, but I was right.

I'm with you there, no way did it ferment without bubbles! Unless maybe you had ninja bubbles...

Well, we all have something to learn here, even the aged ones. My methods have evolved over the last ten years.
