I've been brewing for a while now and have never seen this in any of my fermenters.The top layer of this beer is a different color,way darker.Is this normal and just something i have not run into yet?
i'm not sure what your concerned about? the yeast is settling out, this is absolutely normal behavior for most beers. the only thing different is that it's taking longer to do so.
i made a tripel about 7 weeks back, it did exactly this during secondary. at bottling time, it was all settled out.
