Beginner Question: Can I still use this "old" yeast with confidence? (Safale S-05)
I brewed 6 weeks ago and only used half of the packet of Safale S-05.
I just rolled the top of the packed closed and put it on my kitchen counter top.
I wanna make another 1 gallon test batch with it....
Can anyone point me in the right direction so i don't have to be wasteful?
i wouldn't use it to ferment, it's been sitting open at room temp for over a month, it's not good anymore. if you don't wanna trash it, you can use that 1/2 packet as nutrient, just throw it in the boil when there's about ten mins left.
