Default Bad yeast

So I have 2 supply orders coming in each one has a vial of white labs yeast . One will be in Monday and it took ups 5 days and the other Tuesday and took 6 days they both shipped with an ice pack but it's been 100 degrees or more and I know ups warehouses are not air conditioned... do you think my yeast is fine

It will probably be okay. A starter is usually always required with liquid yeast. Make the starters for these yeasts a bit larger. Estimate an extra 10% loss of viable cells along with the typical viability loss from the date of production.

Yeah - I would use a starter, but they should be ok.

I know it is a bit late now, and you may have already considered it, but I always try to place my orders in a way that they will not ship over a weekend to avoid that extra 2 two days of sitting.

thats what i try and do i normally order on the weekend and it normally ships monday or tuesday and i have it by wed or thurs and can make my starter to brew on the weekend.. i normally use 190 grams of dme and 2000ml water for my starter dhould i put in more dme ? how much ?

No - that is good. I go 1 gram per 10ml - just like yours. Putting more DME in raises the gravity and will actually be more stressful for the yeast.

Use half the amount of DME, for an OG of 1.010 to 1.020, for very old yeast or yeast that was highly stressed, as in arrived hot, not just a little warm with the package swollen.
The second starter step can then be the typical OG of 1.036 to 1.040 to propagate the number of cells needed for your brew.

To be very safe I would make a two step starter. This is the calculator I use for starters. Lot of information on yeast in the site also.
