Default 1gallon batch in a 5 gallon fermenter

Would like to do a one gallon test batch and I am wondering if I can do 1gallon batch in a 5 gallon fermenter? Will the excess headspace effect the process?

The excess headspace will be evacuated with CO2. You will be fine.
