Crankandstein - CrankandStein Grain Mill
Product Information
My wife went out and bought me a Crankandstein grain mill for Christmas! (Not only is she smart, she is hot too!!! Yes she rocks!!!!) So far I have put about 30 pounds of grain through it. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship of the mill. The base plate sits on the inside lip of my Coleman
Extreme Cooler that I use for a mash tun. I don't know if it was planned that way or not but it worked out perfectly, and is a cool bonus!!!! The crush that I am geting is great. I have had no problems or complaints with the Crankandstein. If you are looking for a grain mill I would recommend taking a look at this one! It is worth the money!

Price: $119.00 Pros: A well built hefty piece Cons: hopper is expensive Recommended? Yes
Comments: I purchased the Model 2D with the indented gap adjustment. Their hopper seemed expensive so I built my own from birch plywood. I have only been using it for 8 months but so far I am completely satisfied in it's performance and I feel confident it will serve me for many years

Price: $100.00 Pros: Now I can mill my own grain Cons: None. Recommended? Yes
Comments: I made a base and a hopper out of wood, and run the mill with my hand drill. At some point I will look into running it with a motor and upsizing the hopper.
No regrets.

Price: $40.00 Pros: Extremely sturdy, crushes in one pass like a champ Cons: Open side design tends to make a mess, company designed hopper looks cheap, can't run with a standard drill, no markings for roller gap spacing. Recommended? Yes
Comments: Bought the Crankandstein 3E second-hand on craigslist, and obtained the crankandstein baseplate, hopper and crank to finish it out. Crankandstein mills are nice, brutal strength products. The accessories look like they're made in a shed in the dark using parts stolen from construction sites (they work, they're just not pretty). Will probably mount this and motorize it someday, but I make very small batches so it does fine with a hand crank.

Price: $120.00 Pros: made of very high quality parts. very happy with it. Cons: the three roller verson that i have has the roolers exposed and i caught my thumb in it. I have since made covers Recommended? Yes
Comments: I really like this mill. It is very heavy duty and will made. I got the three roller verson and it makes a very nice even grind.

Price: $76.00 Pros: Affordable, Simple, Reliable. Got my efficiency up to a constant 80%. Cons: Nope! Recommended? Yes
Comments: Overseas shipment was really fast. Seller was prompt to answer all questions asked. Product arrived without any issues, complete with bolts and the driveshaft upgrade that i had requested. I would stop using it only for upgrading to a 3D model.
