O-rings

Needed 1 o-ring, so naturally they only came in a pack of 25. Message me and I'll mail you one for a buck. This is the part info.

Silicone high temperature o-ring (McMaster-Carr part number: 9396K38)
(1-3/16" ID x 1-7/16" OD x 1/8" width, AS568A Dash No. 217, Durometer hardness A70, FDA compliant, -65F to +450F)

What were these o rings for?

BrokenArmBrewing 01-13-2013 12:59 PM

Are these for selfless fittings?

Fizzycist 01-13-2013 02:17 PM

These are for water tight, weldless installation of heater elements for electric brew kettles, HLTs, etc. I just did mine last night and it works great. I don't know what you mean by selfless.

I'm guessing auto correct decided weldless should've been selfless.

I usually don't care for fittings that act in the best interest of other fittings.

Cool story, bro.

Yea weldless..Damn auto correct on phone. Are the size for H20 heater elements you said? Or for 7/8" manifolds?

Fizzycist 01-14-2013 01:00 AM

Yes, water heater elements. I just installed this one using these o-rings and it worked great.
